Special Events
Slim Goodbody—As part of our human body unit in science, the fourth grade class attends the Slim Goodbody “Body-ology” event. This is a fantastic production that uses music and dance to help students learn and explore the systems of the human body.
Washington State History Museum— During our cross curricular unit on Native Americans students have the opportunity to learn and explore through a day long visit to the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma.
Native American Museum— As a culminating celebration of our learning throughout the Native American unit, students share their knowledge and display their self-created artifacts in our classroom museum. This event takes place at the Open House during Catholic Schools Week.
Washington State Capitol tour—As part of our study of government, fourth grade students enjoy a day trip to our state’s capital where they have a guided tour of the three branches of government—and even get to take part in a mock trial at the Temple of Justice.
Mariners Game and tailgate party—To celebrate the end of our baseball unit and the close of a great school year, each spring the fourth grade class and their families have the option to purchase group tickets to an evening game. It is a great community celebration and a very memorable experience for the fourth graders.
Famous Washingtonian Presentations—In our final social studies unit each year, students research an individual who has made significant contributions to Washington State and present their findings in a first-person oral presentation which takes place during the final week of the year.
