*Reading: We are currently studying the background and origins of WWII so that we can better understand the novels when it comes time to reading them. We’ll begin reading our novels after Camp Seymour. *Grammar- We are finishing verbs and moving on to different kinds of sentences. This is a quick unit so adjectives and adverbs will follow. *Weekly Spelling Tests- Monday is the pretest and 3 pages are assigned to work on throughout the week. The pages and the final test are Friday. *Reading response journal-A reading response journal is due by Friday every week. The purpose of the response journal is to have an ongoing written conversation with me about the books that students are reading outside of the classroom. Each student is required to be reading a book of his/her choice. 10 minutes of reading is required a day and a journal entry about the students opinions/insights/reflections/connections is required. |

| Other…Reach for the Stars! – scrip @ ASBThanks for your ongoing support of scrip at ASB! You’re encouraged this month to convert to a monthly standing order for your basic scrip needs, if you don’t already have one. We are having a school-wide contest to increase support of this important fund-raiser. Students in the classroom with the most standing orders at the end of February will receive free dress coupons. Visit: http://www.asbschool.org and click on “scrip” to find the form. Standing orders help us anticipate demand so that we have the cards you need. They also help us anticipate our earnings for the year. You can help us reach for the stars and meet our goal for ASB! Thanks again for your support of ASB! |
