Just a few brief notes from us this week-
  1. Most academics are beginning to wind down throughout this week and next.  Calendars of assignments that we sent out earlier have needed to be adjusted, so just look to the homework pages in 7th to check for what’s due.
  2. We’ll encourage the kids to bring home extra things from lockers over the next couple of weeks to that we’re not bombarded with trash and so they don’t get overloaded with giant bags the last week.
  3. Remember to look for any text books and library books around your house and have your child return them.  Some of you were issues an “at-home” copy of certain books.  It’s time to return them.
  4. Encourage your children to re-use school supplies that still work next year.  It’ll save you money and help reduce waste.
  5. Send in $5 for the end of the year party as directed in an earlier email from our parent helpers.
  6. Dance at ASB this Friday.  WOW!  Do not be surprised is you have a daughter that tries to push the envelope on dress code.  They tried game-playing with us today about how short the shorts could be and if they could wear lulu-l(?) pants.  If we don’t allow it in school, it’s not coming in the dance.  Moreover, they’ll spend the dance sitting on the curb.  No was said to those who thought they could TRY wearing short-shorts and then change if we said no.  YES was said when they asked if they could show us at school an intended outfit.  Good Grief!  Marilu even had a parent argue the fine-print (or lack thereof) regarding points on the permission slip today.  Just say NO folks.  Help us out and encourage some modesty, at least at this age.  Thank you!!!
  7. Please send in the GREEN permission slips now for the independent trips on the 14th.  We need to begin our jobs of ensuring chaperones/drivers are cleared, and making necessary copies of everything.  You have been wonderfully supportive about this process and experience!
Have a good rest of your week!  (Where’s the sun?)

A few notes:
2010-2011 SCHOOL CALENDAR DRAFT
As part of this week’s newsletter we have included a draft of the 2010-2011 School Calendar.  This information is also posted on the ASB website.  We will be adding things to the calendar as they are scheduled over the summer, so please refer to the on-line version for the most up to date calendar information.
HELP US WISH THEM WELL!
Several long-time staff members are saying goodbye to ASB this year, moving on to new adventures. At our closing Mass on June 17, we will present these teachers with some special farewell gifts. We hope you’ll be a part of this.

Please take a few minutes to write a personal note to the teachers who have impacted your children. We’ll have a basket in the front hall where you can leave your cards. We’ll include your cards/notes in our presentation that Friday. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
